ABC News is now reporting on Mike Huckabee's "Willie Horton."
In case you haven't heard, Mike Huckabee lobbied the Arkansas parole board to release convicted rapist Wayne Dumond early because he believed Dumond was innocent.
After Dumond was released, he raped and murdered a woman, and was suspected in another rape (Dumond is now dead).
The ABC story says this:
A former parole board member tells ABC News that Huckabee exerted strong pressure on the board to release Dumond.
During the campaign, Huckabee has insisted he played only a minor role in Dumond's release and had concerns that Dumond had been wrongly convicted.
Huckabee recently told CNN, "None of us could've predicted what Dumond could've done when he got out."
Past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior. And sex offenders have the worst rate of recidivism (i.e. doing it again) of any criminal.
I know liberals always believe we must have complicated solutions, but the simplest--and safest--solution when dealing with criminals is to lock them up for a long, long time. Maybe I'm silly, but they can't hurt innocent people when they're locked up.
The ABC piece says there will be a full report tomorrow morning on Good Morning America.
