Apparently Barack Obama hasn't thrown his former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright completely under the bus yet; he has a few toes left sticking out.

In an Apr. 10 interview with The Advocate magazine, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) said "homophobic" messages are coming from the pulpits of black churches because blacks attend church more regularly than other people and interpret the Bible more traditionally. In the same interview, Obama praised the controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright, his former pastor and long-time spiritual adviser, for being on the right side of the homosexual debate.
"There's plenty of homophobia to go around, but you have a unique perspective into the African-American community," Kerry Eleveld, news editor of The Advocate , a homosexual publication, said to Obama, during the interview.
"I don't think it's worse than in the white community," Obama replied. "I think that the difference has to do with the fact that the African-American community is more churched and most African-American churches are still fairly traditional in their interpretations of Scripture."
What a pity; these black churches are still believing what the Scriptures say, stuck in the Dark Ages.
There may be some in Bible-believing churches who hate or fear homosexuals, but I don't think that's true of most. But homosexual activists have redefined opposition to homosexual behavior for whatever reason as a "phobia."
"The new definition of 'homophobic' means anyone who stands against homosexuality as a sin is homophobic," Rev. Ken Hutcherson, founder and senior pastor of Antioch Bible Church in Redmond, Wash., told Cybercast News Service. "That gives two choices to African-American pastors. They can either be Scriptural and demand righteousness from their flock, or they can drop Scripture and righteousness and support homosexuality."
Mychal Massie, chairman of the black conservative think tank Project 21, said following Christ's teaching doesn't make one homophobic.
"The Christian church is called upon to subscribe to and be obedient to the will of God," Massie told Cybercast News Service. "That means there are absolutes. Embracing the homosexual while rejecting the act and immorality of homosexuality is not to be confused with or viewed as traditional or conservative. It is to be viewed as following the very 'Word' of God."

The only way any of us will truly find freedom from our addictive sins is to be "reborn" through Jesus Christ. We can't do that until we admit our sins and our need to be born again.
Churches that excuse and gloss over the sin of homosexuality are guilty of helping keep people captive to their sins. It would be no different if they excused gossip, slander, drunkenness, theft, or any other sin.
Jesus came to set the captives free. If a church isn't willing to join Jesus in that effort, they should just get out of the way and become a night club or something.

Where did Christ say something about homosexuality? I mean, I see Leviticus in the old Testament, but I can't find where Christ himself talks about homosexuality -- can anyone help me find it?
Jesus is also known as the Word (John chapter 1). He is also God, which means He's responsible for the entire Bible, Old Testament and New.
Jesus' apostle Paul (who speaks for Him) told us that God disapproves of homosexuality in Romans chapter 1 and 1 Corinthians chapter 6, along with a couple of other New Testament references.
Additionally, Jesus reaffirmed God's design for human sexuality in Mark 10:6-9, as originally laid out in Genesis 2:21-24 when humanity was created. God designed human sexuality to be expressed between a man and a woman in marriage.

So I can infer from this then that human sexuality was originally meant to be incestuous, as Adam and Eve's sons had no one to marry but their own mother.
According to the Bible and Genesis, the sons of Adam could only have had children with their own mother and then with each other's daughters.

Adam and Eve's sons married sisters when they were all old enough.
There was no prohibition against marrying that close in family relations back then. Since Adam and Eve were the "original model," there was a lot less error in the gene pool with damaged chromosomes.
The prohibition against marrying that close in the family didn't come until the time of Moses, roughly 3,000 years later.
There is nothing at all in the Bible about sisters, unless you can show me otherwise. So no I never thought about sisters, I would have thought if there were any,they would have been mentioned.
Even so the thought of us all originating from incest makes my stomach turn.
The Bible track lineage through males, so you won't find a direct mention of their wives there, but it's pretty obvious that there was no other way for the human race to get started. Stands to reason that in the days of Adam and Eve, when there was no birth control, they'd have lots of kids, and that quite a few of them would be girls.
Incest may be repugnant to our modern sensibilities, but I believe God instituted the prohibition against it around the time of Moses not for any moral reason (there's no indication of such a reason), but because of the increasing chromosomal error rate; being a loving God who doesn't like human suffering, He didn't want human babies to be born with birth defects when it could be avoided--which it could by that time, since there were enough human beings around that there was no compelling need for close siblings to marry.
Haggs, last year you saw two lesbians do something they called a wedding, but it wasn't a wedding. Only a man and a woman can have a wedding and get married; when two men or two women imitate a wedding it's just that: imitation.
There are no un-American or unconstitutional laws banning homosexual "marriage." America was founded on Christian principles, which means America was founded on the principle that only a man and a woman can constitute a marriage, that only a man and a woman can start a family.
There is nothing in the Constitution which authorizes the re-ordering of nature and the law of nature's God.

good point about God deciding there were enough human beings around the time of Moses, stands to reason then, that being a loving God, he also decided to use a loving way to help curb over population and created homosexuals. What a loving way to help over population, by having people of the same sex loving each other, then you have natural population control. After all homosexuality seemed to appear around the time of Moses also.

God didn't say anything about their being "enough" people around the time of Moses. In fact, there isn't even overpopulation right now, over 3,000 years later. The earth could support billions more than we currently have; the primary reason we have privation among the population now isn't too many people, but government oppression and corruption, which results in inefficient distribution of resources, exacerbated by a lack of economic freedom in many parts of the world.
God wouldn't have created people to be homosexual and then condemned them for it. He also wouldn't have told us to be fruitful and multiply, and at the same time (a) failed to create a planet that could sustain the results of that mandate, or (b) endorsed a sexual practice that (1) ran counter to that mandate and (2) he condemns repeatedly.
God made it plain in both Old and New Testament that he disapproves of homosexual behavior, and that his design for the expression of human sexuality is a man and a woman in marriage. Go check it out.
Thanks Bob, I do have a question, why did God create homosexuals then? He must of had some reason and homosexuality occurs throughout nature. After all He is the Creator of all, no exceptions.

To answer your first question, God didn't create people to BE homosexuals. He created all human beings to express their sexuality in a heterosexual manner within marriage, as outlined in Genesis 2:23-24 and as reaffirmed by Jesus in Mark 10:6-8. However, in our fallen state, sometimes sexual inclinations go awry; some people for various reasons become attracted to others of the same sex, and when they give in to that, they have misused God's design for human sexuality. Just as some people misuse God's design for human sexuality in a heterosexual manner with sex outside of marriage or adultery. And as some people who drink to excess and commit other sins. God didn't create them to commit these sins; they gave in to temptations that arose from their fallen nature.
Some of the Levitical prohibitions you mentioned were ritual, some were practical, and some were moral. Jesus Christ did away with the ritual and dietary requirements under the Mosaic Law when he instituted the new coventant, instituted by the sacrifice of his life for the sins of humanity.
The moral imperatives remain in effect, while the penalties and punishments for those sins have changed. Homosexuality, adultery, and worship of things other than God remain immoral and remain condemned in the New Testament, but God now extends grace to allow us the opportunity to repent of our sins and give our lives over to him.
That's available to us all, no matter whether we've been a drunk or a homosexual or a thief or whatever; Jesus died for us all, and we can all be set free from our bondage to these sins.
