(Aberdeen, S.D.) The NSU College Democrats and Republicans will host the first annual local candidate debate on OCTOBER 28TH AT 6:45 P.M. in Johnson Fine Arts Center.
“This is an excellent event to not only entice the students of Northern to engage in the local political process but also have the community hear their local candidates,” said event co-organizer Aaron Lorenzen.
All of the candidates from District 2 and 3 have been invited to participate in this debate. The format will allow candidates to engage in discussion about the issues and ideas affecting this state. Members of the audience will be able to submit questions to be asked of their candidates.
“This will be the first time in recent history that an event like this is held on the campus of Northern State University,” said event co-organizer Kayla Kirby. “The College Democrats and Republicans have been working very hard to make this a mainstay of the local candidate forums.”
Commentary will also be featured by NSU Professors Jon Schaff and Jim Seeber.
