The Politico reports the 2008 election shattered records for voter turnout.
Votes are still coming in, but it looks like a 64% turnout with more than 130 million Americans voting. (It remains unclear how many voted twice, or how many dead folks and cartoon characters ACORN registered).
The article says 122.3 million turned out in 2004, and 2008 is the biggest turnout in "generations."
