America Headed for the Woodshed

By Marie Jon'

Being politically correct has its rewards. Nevertheless, I must speak my mind without regard to acceptance or reprisals. I feel the need to express my thoughts.

As the huge crowd gathered at Grant Park in Chicago for a historical celebration, others like myself wept. Deep inside my heart, I knew what was to come. I did not see the stature bestowed upon this man who was not worthy of America's trust.

While many good Americans were confused, I was not. For more than a year, political pundits had focused on Obama's past political history, his choice of friends, and his quasi-Christian faith. His choice of Afrocentric Black liberation theology reinforced Obama's disdain for America. He chose the theme of change and made it part of his ongoing mantra because it reflects his own political social agenda.

Happily, others will call Barack Obama their president. I cannot, because of who he is and what he stands for. Bluntly put, I have absolutely no respect for the Democrat Party or the man who will soon occupy the Oval Office. What little trust I had in the "opposition" has been destroyed. They knew who the real Obama was from the get-go, but still desperately desired him. Through Obama, all things are possible.

Is it any wonder that many Americans fear this man? Our worst days are yet to come. Obama is Saul Alinsky and Rev. Jeremiah Wright embodied into one confused human being. For the first time in America's history, our newly-elected president will attempt to punish our country for its past transgressions. America does not deserve that kind of humiliation.

Excerpts from The American Spectator: "Saul Alinsky Takes the White House":

"Conservatives may not realize just how difficult it might be to recover from this week's elections.

"The day after the big defeat, the conservative chatter everywhere was about how the "movement" and the Republican Party (two different things) could finally unshackle themselves from the bad old habits that brought them down, and about how the ability to draw a sharp contrast with the Obama/Pelosi/Reid triumvirate would allow us to focus attention, rally the faithful, and re-storm the castle in 2010 and 2012.

"Fat chance.

"Too many conservatives think we've seen all this before — in 1964 and 1974 and 1992 — and that we know how to handle it. Fly, meet ointment: We're not dealing with the same sorts of opponents. These New Alinskyites who are taking over the White House, combined with the most leftist congressional leadership in memory, will not let us play by the same rules under which conservatives recovered from those earlier debacles. They will try to drastically tilt the playing field, seed our side of the field with land mines and, in short, rig the process to make it next to impossible for the political right, or Republicans, to recover. And they are likely to succeed in at least some of these designs.

"It will begin with their efforts to secure a filibuster-proof majority of 60 senators (including the two independents). Right now the libs (and yes, all the Democratic senators, with the possible exception of Nebraska's Ben Nelson, are libs) have 56, with three Republican moderates and one conservative leading their races but awaiting recounts or runoffs. Watch for the Alinskyites to try stealing all four, and to succeed in at least two. We've seen this game before. They did it in Indiana's 'Bloody Eighth' congressional district in 1984. They almost succeeded in 2000 in Florida. They did succeed, outrageously so, in the Washington State governor's race in 2004. Those are just the most obvious of many similar examples. And now they are even more ruthless, more lawyered-up, and in a more powerful position to pull it off than they were in any of those instances. " Full Article

Obama used his winsome charm, and the whole world wondered after him, as if he were an angel of light. This cult-like figure filled people's minds by using repetitive chants of "Hope" and "Yes We Can" to bedazzle his willing, but duped, followers. The media paved the path to allow Obama to seize the White House by not reporting everything they knew about the man.

As it stands, President Obama will lead America to hell and back using bullying, intrusive tactics. Just ask Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, a private citizen who asked a question. The entire world knows more about Joe the plumber than President Obama.

Joe's privacy was invaded by a Democrat state official in Ohio. "Big Brother" will be watching and listening. Be careful. Every bit of Mr. Wurzelbacher's personal information was revealed for the media to peruse. They tried to diminish and assassinate the man's character in his own community. Is this what we have to look forward to in this Obama administration?

While many in our country feel jubilant, my knowledge of Obama prevents me from taking him to heart.

The most beloved civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, said it all for me and most other Americans who find themselves in a very uncomfortable and awkward position:

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." — Martin Luther King, Jr.

While I am pleased to see how far racial relations have evolved for the betterment of our country, it was no surprise to me that a black American would become president. I have always felt proud of America's willingness to correct her wrongs. However, it is devastating when I see that the wrong people are given great power and political sway over others who are made to feel unworthy to help themselves through education and hard work. The Democrat Party has victimized a part of its constituency by encouraging them to look towards big government for their every need.

Their brand of politics also hurts me. I am a Christian with a heart to love all peoples. Many patriotic Americans are fed up with the Rev. Wrights of the world and the drive-by media who imply that all conservatives are closet bigots.

During Obama's run for the presidency, he continually injected race into the campaign. Dr. King died to suppress that kind of politics. He was victorious. However, Obama will change the way we see one another if we're not cautious.

America will be sent to the woodshed for a thrashing by a bitter president. When speaking to a group of elitists in San Francisco, Obama said: "And it's not surprising then they (Pennsylvanians) get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them." However, he had nothing but praise for the good citizens of Pennsylvania when he stood before them to ask for their votes. Little did they know of his intentions to bankrupt the coal mining industry.

When I look at Obama, I see a man who Americans will not be able to count on. Sadly, he will continually divide our country and hasten the demise of America as we know it today.

Obama's policies will bring grief, not only to America but to many other countries who continuously count on us to bring stability to the free world.

Americans will eventually regret giving the reigns over to a radicalized party that sees nothing worthy of preserving in our great country. I am sad to inform you that what has taken place might never be reversed. Once socialism takes root, it buries itself very deeply. We won't see America for a very long time, if ever.

Wow, I just happened upon this post from Reddit. Just astounding. It's tempting to just do what most internet users would do and call you stupid shielded by anonymity. Instead though, I'd just like to pose these questions.

1) Who's political rallies during the presidential campaign were filled with moments of divisiveness and derision of their opponents as unpatriotic,as well as people who shouted statements like "terrorist" "kill him" and "traitor" when the name Obama was mentioned?

2) On the note of "big brother", which American president and administration created the largest dragnet for information gathering on foreign AND domestic citizens by the NSA. A move so illegal, his entire DOJ threatened to resign if he didn't scale back on it.

3) While we are on the topic of "preserving our great country", which president was it again that referred to the constitution as "just a goddamn piece of paper". Was it the same one that tried to legalize torture (prohibited by the consititution), launched illegal wars and ultimately was directly responsible for the deaths of over 4000 Americans (more than were killed on 9/11) as well as countless civilians in said countries.

4) My memory is failing me now, I seem to remember a vice-president who believed himself to operate outside of the executive and representative bodies. Who would seem to think he didn't even need to bother with a thing such as a constitution or laws. Do you know his name?

5) Finally, a more general comment. If socialism is so terrible and devastating, how is it that it has firmly been in place in the UK, France and Canada, 3 of the world's leading nations, who exhibit no signs of serious cultural trouble (apart from regular domestic in fights) or civil. More to the point perhaps, whose administration passed the largest bailout in US history that effectively socialized banking losses at the expense of taxpayers?

When you come up to the answers to some of these, I think you'll find a little enlightenment. Us "crazy liberals" (I'm Canadian) don't need to yell profanities or use the mighty weapon of socialism to deal with people who spout the stuff you do, we use a little known but powerful tool called:

the facts.

Have a nice day.

1. Debunked.

2. Foreign, not U.S. citizens. You shouldn't rely on MoveOn.org for your information.

3. Anonymous sources that won't go on record; in other words, it's an unfounded accusation. Bush doesn't have the greatest record for respect for the constitution, but such blatant disrespect would be out of character for him both on his Republican principles and his Christian principles. Besides, the Democrats and Obama himself have a far worse record of disregard for the Constitution.

4. Why don't you be a little more specific. It's rather hard to refuse such nebulous accusations.

5. No signs of serious cultural trouble? Where have you been--Mars? There are reasons why the U.S. is so far ahead of these nations, and a great deal of it has to do with economic freedom and personal responsibility. I lived in England for three years where being on the dole is a way of life for vast numbers of people--generationally. Their economies are also weighted down like pack mules by government regulation and taxes.

Socialism is a more benign form of Marxism; it is akin to communism, but without as many guns involved. And while it may or may not be contrary to the principles of the British, Canadians or French, it is most assuredly in contradiction to the principles of Americanism.

America was founded on the concepts of personal freedom, a free market, personal responsibility, low taxes, and limited government. Socialism is the opposite of all these things. And until our Constitution is changed, socialist principles remain ILLEGAL to implement in the U.S. because any action not specifically authorized by the U.S. Constitution is illegal.

“To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.” — Thomas Jefferson, letter to Joseph Milligan, April 6, 1816

“A wise and frugal government … shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.” — Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1801

“Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but only those specifically enumerated.” — Thomas Jefferson

“The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence. If ‘Thou shalt not covet’ and ‘Thou shalt not steal’ were not commandments of Heaven, they must be made inviolable precepts in every society before it can be civilized or made free.” — John Adams, A Defense of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America, 1787

“With respect to the two words ‘general welfare,’ I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators.” — James Madison in a letter to James Robertson

In 1794, when Congress appropriated $15,000 for relief of French refugees who fled from insurrection in San Domingo to Baltimore and Philadelphia, James Madison stood on the floor of the House to object saying, “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” — James Madison, 4 Annals of Congress 179, 1794

“[T]he government of the United States is a definite government, confined to specified objects. It is not like the state governments, whose powers are more general. Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government.” — James Madison

- We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of the public money. — Congressman Davy Crockett

Bob, you can do better than this. This woman can't even write well.

Moreover, I perceive a real lack of love in this piece. "I am a Christian with a heart to love all peoples," she writes. Really? Shouldn't "you people" emulate Jesus and love all?

Bob Ellis said...

Colin, as usual you confuse "love" with "license."

Love doesn't pretend someone isn't wrong. Love cares enough to confront wrong.

You really should go read that Bible and get up to speed, or read it again.

Colin said...

So, you agree this woman writes like a third-grader. Good.

Bob Ellis said...

Maybe, Colin, the problem is that you read like a third grader, because I don't think you'll find that I said that. I tried to ignore your pettiness.

Folks who are themselves bereft of intellectual ammunition--and a coherent counter-argument--often resort to schoolyard insults to protest what they don't like.

Exactly, Bob.
