There is even the
"thought" (according to a news title) that if Hillary Clinton wins,
it is a win for all women in the world? I have some rich farm land
in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, too.
Let's get real. Oh
no...a Dr. Phil phrase (nearly) slipped out of my keyboard.
Hillary Clinton is
not the new and potential Mother Teresa of the world. She is merely
the wife of an ex-president who seems to want her own five minutes
of fame not related to scandals and bad reviews. Maybe she wants to
show us why she stayed with her husband after he proclaimed to the
world he didn't inhale and he didn't have sex with that Monica.
Did she sell her soul
and her dignity for a run at the presidency?
It's hard to know
what is behind Hillary's thoughts, since her story appears to change
with the tide and whatever audience happens to be before her at that
moment. I wonder what it would be like to see her in front of an
audience that was equal parts of all the potential voters and groups
out there. Now, that is an appearance I might fight to watch,
especially if questions were allowed from the audience and plenty of
time to give all a chance. But...somehow...I doubt that is a
situation we'll ever see.
Desperately wanting a
woman for president, should not somehow qualify Hillary Clinton for
the position just because she is the right gender. The first woman
president should, if to mean anything, be someone both highly
qualified and one that will make us proud of our choice. Otherwise,
what is the point?
This experience that
Hillary keeps talking about--is it actually "her" personal
experience or her husband's and she just happened to be in the
household at the time the situations arose and decisions were made?
Maybe some specifics are in order, so we can better evaluate her
experience and qualification claims. After all, our votes and
support are too valuable to carelessly throw around based upon
assumptions and unverified beliefs.
A win for all women?
Hillary Clinton doesn't seem to fit the bill. A win is when we vote
for all the right reasons (such as honesty, integrity and ability of
the person of our choice) and the best candidate wins! Now that is a
win for all people, which includes all women! Can't get any better
than that!
