10/21/2005 Interstate Batteries Announces 'Charged For Life'
Fundraising Campaign STERLING, Va., Oct. 21 /Christian Wire Service/ -- This fall, Interstate Batteries and Care Net have teamed up to launch "Charged for Life," a new fundraising campaign to help support the work of pregnancy centers across the U.S. and Canada. The strategic partnership will be kicked off at the upcoming NASCAR race in Martinsville, Va. where the Interstate Batteries car will feature Care Net's name and logo. The race will be broadcast live on NBC at 12:30 pm Eastern Time on Sunday, October 23rd. (Check local listings for exact times.) More than fifty percent of the proceeds from the campaign's battery sales (AAA, AA, 9-volt, hearing aid batteries, etc.) will go to support the work of Care Net pregnancy centers. Care Net is a faith-based organization that supports a network of 900 pregnancy centers in the U.S. and Canada. A Care Net pregnancy center offers free and confidential services, such as pregnancy tests, peer counseling, educational classes and resources, to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Care Net also jointly owns and operates with Heartbeat International a national 24-hour call center, the Option Line (800-395-HELP), where trained consultants help connect women to a local pregnancy center and provide her with information about pregnancy options. Through the call center and companion web site pregnancycenters.org, the Option Line directly helps more than 10,000 women per month. "Interstate Batteries is a great role model for companies seeking to make a difference in local communities," said Care Net President Kurt Entsminger. "Thousands of women will be helped as a result of the 'Charged for Life' campaign. At Care Net pregnancy centers, we believe that people make positive life decisions when they are empowered with information and know that they are not alone. We thank Interstate Batteries for its generous partnership in helping to support our mission." Additional information and resources for pregnancy centers to participate in the "Charged for Life" campaign will be distributed to Care Net affiliates this fall.
