Public Prayer and Fasting at Supreme Court During Judge Alito's Confirmation Hearings

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Christian organizations plan public prayer and fasting at the Supreme Court during the week of confirmation hearings for Judge Samuel A. Alito, Jr.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, states, "As 9/11 defined President Bush's first term, his appointments to the Supreme Court will define his second term. The composition of the Supreme Court is one of the most critical issues facing our nation today. Judge Samuel Alito's serving on the court will determine its direction for the next 30 years. Those decisions will impact our children and their children for generations to come. We urge Democrats to allow an up or down vote."

Details on public prayer and fasting at Supreme Court during Judge Alito's confirmation hearings will be available online at the website prayatthecourt.com.
