Walk to Reclaim America Assembling Prayer Team

Group calls America back to deep faith in God

HARRISON, Ohio, Nov. 28 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The Walk To Reclaim America project has launched its drive to assemble a National Prayer Team to pray for Rick and Jane McKinney as they walk across America next year. The six-month walk will begin on January 1st , 2006 in Los Angeles, California and end in Washington DC on July 4th, 2006.

The 2800 mile walk to reclaim America's Freedoms, Families, and Faith will require the McKinneys to walk 18-20 miles per day as they cross the country.

"That's a lot of miles per day," says Rick McKinney, "and we'll need lots of prayer. We're looking for people who believe that God wants to bring a spiritual awakening in America to lift us up in prayer as we walk across this nation."

The McKinneys will keep a busy schedule while walking. In addition to walking six days per week they will be holding rallies all across the country encouraging Christians to stand up and be counted in the effort to call America back to a deep faith in God. They also hope to meet with elected officials and church leaders to encourage others to get involved in the process of bringing about a change in the spiritual climate of the nation.

"We're hoping that people from all over the country will sign up to pray for 30 minute time slots from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday we're walking," says McKinney. "We want this whole project to be saturated in prayer."
