Gov. Rounds asks that all flags fly at half staff to honor fallen soldiers PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Mike Rounds is asking that all flags in the state be flown at half staff from 8 a.m. (CT) Thursday, December 15, 2005 until sunset Saturday, December 17, 2005 in honor of Sgt. 1st Class Richard Schild of Tabor and Staff Sgt. Daniel M. Cuka of Yankton. Both soldiers were killed while serving in Iraq. A joint public memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 4 p.m. (CT) in the Summit Center at the Yankton High School. Visitation for Sgt. 1st Class Richard Schild will be held Thursday, December 15 from 1-9 p.m. at the Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton. Funeral services for Schild will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories in Yankton with military honors provided by members of the South Dakota National Guard. Visitation of Staff Sgt. Daniel M. Cuka will be held Friday, December 16 5-9 p.m. at the Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton. Funeral services for Cuka will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 17 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Yankton. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories in Yankton with military honors being provided by members of the South Dakota National Guard.
