R-CALF USA President and Co-Founder Leo McDonnell to Speak at 5 p.m. MST, Tuesday, Jan. 10, Prior to Fund-Raiser

Philip Livestock Auction – Philip, S.D. The Jerry Roseth family, owners of Philip Livestock Auction in Philip, S.D., will host R-CALF USA President and Co-Founder Leo McDonnell at a January 10th fund-raiser for the national organization. McDonnell will speak at 5 p.m. at the sale barn, and a rollover calf auction will follow.

“Philip Livestock Auction has hosted multiple fund-raisers and events over the years, and R-CALF can’t thank Jerry and his family enough for their loyal support,” McDonnell said. “We also want to thank cattle producers all over South Dakota who come out to these types of events and generously contribute their hard-earned dollars to help us continue our work on the issues important to independent cattle producers everywhere.

“R-CALF also appreciates those producers who donate their animals that make these rollover auctions such successful events,” McDonnell continued.

Mike and Terry Karrels, formerly from the Philip vicinity, and current residents of Terry, Mont., will donate a black Angus steer for the rollover auction, something the couple has graciously done several times in the past.

R-CALF USA works on various issues that affect independent U.S. cattle producers, such as country-of-origin labeling, livestock price reporting, animal health concerns, captive supplies and packer ownership of livestock, as well as various trade agreements.
