High Gas Prices, Foreign Dependency Okay With Librerals

Senate Democrats Successfully Obstruct Oil & Gas Exploration, Again

WASHINGTON, DC - William Greene, President of the conservative on-line activist organization RightMarch.com, is urging his members to take action and contact Members of U.S. Senate while they're home for the Christmas recess to encourage them to pass legislation to open a small portion of Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) for oil and natural gas exploration. Recent attempts to open ANWR were again thwarted in the Senate by a Democrat led filibuster.

"We're asking our folks to contact their Senators while they're at home for the recess," said William Greene, President of RightMarch.com. "This is such a critical issue, especially now that we've entered the winter season and Americans will pay more to heat their homes and travel to work. There's an obvious growing demand for oil and gas - a demand that will only grow larger as time progresses. It's unfair for Democrats and liberal Republicans in the Senate to say to the American people 'you'll have to pay more because we're not done playing politics with this issue.'"

The U.S. House recently passed another ANWR exploration provision as part of a defense spending bill by a vote of 308-106. That same bill faced a Democrat-led filibuster in the Senate and fell 3 votes short of the 60 votes needed for passage. "We need to lay the groundwork now to increase supply for the future - it's foolish not to. A majority of Alaskans and Americans as a whole realize it, support it and want it - why don't liberal Senators?" concluded Greene.
