CWA's Crouse Praises Passage of Trafficking Victims Protection Act WASHINGTON, Dec. 29 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Concerned Women for America (CWA) praises the Senate for overwhelmingly passing Rep. Chris Smith's (R-New Jersey) Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) of 2005. This legislation, which passed Thursday, is crucial in combating sex trafficking, a modern day slavery which devastates hundreds of thousands of men, women and children each year. "Human trafficking is a growing reality in the United States and the Senate's action is an important step in fighting it," said Dr. Janice Crouse, CWA's Senior Fellow of the Beverly LaHaye Institute. "This new law not only strengthens the current trafficking law, it also grants additional funds to help prosecute sex trafficking offenders and offers protection to victims of this heinous crime." Crouse concluded, "We are taking the lead in combating this atrocity that strips hope away from so many people. Women especially are being sold into domestic and international human slavery. This devaluing of human life must be stopped, and Rep. Smith's legislation is an enormous step in the right direction." Concerned Women for America (CWA) is the nation's largest public policy women's organization.
