Capitol Hill Pro-Life Worship Service Enters 12th Year WASHINGTON, Jan. 4 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The only indoor pro-life Christian worship service held in the US Capitol complex in Washington, DC, will celebrate its 12th year on Monday, January 23, 2005, when hundreds of pro-life clergy, advocates and abortion survivors convene on Capitol Hill. Founded by twin brothers and fellow pro-life activists, Paul and Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), the National Memorial for the Preborn and their Mothers and Fathers is both a solemn remembrance of all those harmed by abortion, as well as a joyous celebration of God's precious gift of life. Prayers will be said throughout the ceremony for victims of the abortion holocaust: the babies whose lives have been lost, their mothers who are injured in soul and body, and for fathers who are demoralized by the abortion of their children. Now under the sponsorship of the National Pro-Life Religious Council, the National Memorial Service will be hosted by its president, Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life. Leading the service will be dozens of clergy from numerous denominations representing Catholic, Evangelical, Orthodox and Protestant traditions. Admission is free and open to the public. The National Memorial Service is timed to coincide with many other pro-life events marking the anniversary of the infamous 1973 Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade. Many Memorial attendees also take part in the annual March for Life immediately following.
