CEC For Life to Host Pro-Life Events in January WASHINGTON, Jan. 6 /Christian Newswire/ -- In memory of the Supreme Court case, Roe v Wade, which made abortion legal in the United States, CEC for Life will host several events on January 22nd and 23rd in Washington, D.C. The group's youth affiliate, Laudate 4 Life, will hold a rally at the Holiday Inn on the Hill on Sunday, the 22nd at 7pm. Nationally-known pro-life speaker, Brandi Swindell of Generation Life, will be the keynote. On Monday, the 23rd, CEC For Life will participate in the National Memorial for the Pre-Born, America's premier indoor, interdenominational pro-life service. The service begins at 9am, and will be held in one of the U.S. Senate Office buildings on Constitution Avenue, NE. At noon, CEC For Life will gather at the Washington Monument for the commencement rally and the March for Life. Following the March, the Liturgy for the Pre-Born will be held in front of the Supreme Court building at 3:30pm, after which CEC For Life will join Silent No More—a group of post- abortion women who will share their testimonies. Additionally, CEC For Life is excited to announce the 2005 winners of the Chloe Powers Essay Contest. Ranging in age from 14 to 22 years old, the winners are Ashley Sweeney (Olathe, KS), Crista Von Borstel (Woodstock, GA), Colleen Hamrick (Thurmont, MD), Gavin O'Donnell (San Clemente, CA), Heather Dobbs (Selma, AL), and Elliot Rossiter (Toronto, Canada.) The youth people will travel to Dublin, Ireland in March 2006 to attend a pro-life conference and participate in street work with Youth Defense International.
