Gov. Rounds asks that all flags fly at half staff Wednesday-Saturday to honor fallen Soldiers Boehmer and Herried

PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Mike Rounds asks that all flags in the state be flown at half staff from 0800 Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, through sunset Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 (CST), in honor of Sgt. Jeremiah J. Boehmer and Spc. Patrick W. Herried. Boehmer, of Parkston, died Feb. 5, 2006. Herried, of Sioux Falls, died Feb. 6, 2006. Both were serving their country in Iraq.

Visitation for Sgt. Boehmer will begin at 5 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston.

The funeral service for Sgt. Boehmer will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Parkston with military honors provided by members of the South Dakota National Guard.

Visitation for Spc. Herried is scheduled from 5 - 9 p.m. (CST) on Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at the Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.

The funeral service for Spc. Herried will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at the First Assembly of God Church in Sioux Falls. Burial will follow at the Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls with military honors provided by members of the South Dakota National Guard.
