Saudi Arabia
and Our National Security WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- CRAVE announced today that it is calling for a nation wide expression of outrage over the announcement that partial management of six of our ports is going to be given to a company from Saudi Arabia. Our ports are the most vulnerable part of our National Security. While it may be true that this company, based in Saudi Arabia, is a great company with loads of experience working with various countries in their port operations . . . let us not forget the early role played by Saudi Arabia in the war on terrorism. Saudi Arabia was the home of some of the bombers who flew planes into the Twin Towers. Saudi Arabia also has been said to have helped Osama Bin Laden and other terrorists by giving them money to help finance their terrorism. The question is really not one of whether this company seems to be a great company, or whether Saudi Arabia is one of our best allies, but rather the question is whether any company from outside the United States should be allowed to work at OUR PORTS in the post 9-11 world. There are so few inspections there. This causes one to wonder whether President Bush has some ulterior motives. “There simply is not a reason good enough to make it OK for us to give even partial control of OUR PORTS to any outside government in this post 9-11 world,” said Don Swarthout, President of Christians Reviving America’s Values. “I wish that it weren’t necessary for me to express these kinds of views, but if I don’t say what is on my mind, it seems like it may not get said,” Swarthout added. In a Fox News poll the American people are opposed to this idea of allowing the Saudi Arabian company in by a margin of 64% to 17%. Swarthout said, “That should tell us where the people of America stand.” “I think the American people are just tired of bending over and that they are tired of the terrorist calling the shots. I think that they are telling us, hey, “Let’s quit being such a bunch of politically correct wimps and take a stand for what we really believe,” Swarthout said. Whether or not this is fair, isn’t the issue. For the American people, the issue seems to be, “Let’s take a stand and make our voices heard for once.” If you want to call the Switchboard in Washington DC to let both of your Senators and your Congressman know how you feel about this issue, the number is 202-225-3121.
