Pillar and Support Alliance Pays Tribute to Dr. Henry Morris in his Role to Restore Biblical Creationism
Evolutionary teaching distorts the message of the Church

ATLANTA, Mar. 3 -- Pastor Dan Thrower, co- founder of the Pillar and Support Alliance (PSA), commented today that the life and work of scientist Dr. Henry Morris, Ph.D. was pivotal in the revival of Christian orthodoxy regarding the Bible’s teaching on the Creation. The PSA pays tribute to Morris’ achievements in science and theology. Dr. Morris was ushered into his Creator’s presence on February 25, 2006 at the age of 87.

Evolutionary teaching distorts the message of the Church. In 2005 over 10,000 clergy signed a letter as part of an effort to resist any constructive criticism of evolution in schools. This "Clergy Letter Project" took their efforts nationwide and on February 12th sponsored "Evolution Sunday" to encourage clergy to defend evolution’s compatibility with religion on the 197th anniversary of Darwin’s birth. The PSA was formed to encourage like-minded church and ministry leaders to be the pillar and support of the truth regarding creation and the Creator. To that end the "Open Letter Concerning Christianity and Creation" has been drafted by the PSA. Pastors and other church leaders are asked to sign the Open Letter at the PSA website at www.pillarandsupport.org and make their commitment to Biblical creation public; others can sign the letter to encourage the leaders.

Dr. Thrower, pastor of Enon Grove Community Church, Franklin, Georgia and co-founder of the group of church and ministry leaders championing Biblical Creation remarked, "In the Open Letter, church and ministry leaders ‘commend the men and women engaged in the scientific disciplines who live by the truths expressed in this letter and serve God with all their mind, heart, soul, and strength as they work to understand the creation and take an active role in the dominion mandate through their discoveries.’ Henry Morris was a Christian scientist in the truest sense. His dedication to the Gospel and the Christian faith were the foundation of his life. He was a role model of how the Christian worldview impacts a scientist’s life and work. He founded the Institute for Creation Research in 1970, its world- wide impact and continued growth are a testimony of God’s blessing upon Morris’ humble obedience."

The PSA requests prayer for the Morris family and the entire staff at ICR during this transition.
