Grizzly Adams Productions Unites with Cook Communications and Bethany House to Offer Free Curricula Confronting The Da Vinci Code Movie
Four-week Bible study by Jim Garlow and one-week curriculum by Grizzly Adams Productions provide an opportunity to teach church-goers of all ages the truth about the Da Vinci Code

LOVELAND, Colo., Mar. 10 /Christian Newswire/ -- Grizzly Adams Productions, Inc. (GAP), producers of family friendly network television shows, announced it has united with Bethany House and Cook Communications to provide free curricula for the church and Christian broadcasting markets that will help churches confront The Da Vinci Code movie, directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, which is set for box office release by Columbia Pictures on May 19.

"The release of The Da Vinci Code movie gives the church a spectacular opportunity that is incredibly rare," observes Dr. Jim Garlow, author of Cracking Da Vinci's Code (Cook Communications) and The Da Vinci Codebreaker (Bethany House). "It's been a long time since so many unbelievers have been compelled to ask about the authority of the church, the nature of Christ, and His divinity. With those otherwise disinterested folks suddenly asking questions, this can be a very difficult time for the church, or a wonderful opportunity for those who are prepared for inquiries."

GAP, in cooperation with Garlow and his publishers, is offering its one-week church-wide curriculum including pastor's sermon outline, and listener's notes which comes as a bonus feature with The Da Vinci Code Deception DVD. A four-week Da Vinci Code Bible Study developed by Dr. Garlow, pastor of the Skyline Church in San Diego, is also available. Garlow focuses on four phases to prepare churches plus concepts every Christian should know before the movie is released.

Garlow outlines six key things every believer needs to know to effectively converse with non-believers about the Da Vinci Code. These topics, based on Dan Browns attacks on Christianity in The Da Vinci Code novel, are covered in detail in his study guide, including: the reliability of the New Testament, the divinity of Christ, the definition of "Church," the definition of "God," the Church's understanding of women, and human sexuality.

"These are the key theological components of Dan Brown's vicious attack on Christianity," notes Dr. Garlow. "By knowing the truth, and sharing that information with unbelievers, Christians can effectively counter this attack and expose more people to the gospel message of Jesus Christ."

GAP's The Da Vinci Code Deception DVD is based on three best-selling Christian books: The Da Vinci Deception by Dr. Edwin Lutzer (Tyndale House), Breaking the Da Vinci Code by Dr. Darrell Bock (Thomas Nelson), and Cracking Da Vinci's Code by Garlow (Cook Communications). The production answers lingering questions and exposes deceptions in Brown's novel, using interviews with authors and leading experts in theology, archaeology, art history, philosophy and science.

"The Da Vinci Code Deception DVD, includes in its bonus features a 30-page Leaders Guide for a one- week church-wide curriculum with pastor's sermon outline and listener's notes, or the option of using the four-week Da Vinci Code Bible Study designed and written by author Jim Garlow," said David W. Balsiger, Senior Producer at GAP. "We offer this curriculum as a bonus feature because we believe churches shouldn't have to pay for expensive curriculum to confront the Da Vinci Code."

"Too many Christians have taken The Da Vinci Code as truth, when that is not the case," said Chuck Sellier, GAP's President. "The curriculum we're offering as a bonus, based in part on Dr. Garlow's book, exposes the inaccuracies and dispels the myths found in Dan Brown's book that mislead believers and non-believers alike." Dr. Garlow's Bible study can be downloaded free at www.jimgarlow.com. The DVD call be ordered by calling (800) 811-0548.
