Specter-Kennedy
Amnesty Betrays America (PHOENIX, AZ) March 16, 2006 – Chris Simcox, President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, issued the following statement on the agreement reached today between Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter and Sen. Ted Kennedy to grant amnesty and a path of ‘legalization’ without repatriation to their home countries for the estimated 12 to 20 million illegal aliens living in America: “Chairman Specter and Sen. Kennedy have sent a message to the untold millions of illegal aliens who have demonstrated their contempt for the sovereignty and laws of the United States: ‘Crime pays!’ “The agreement announced today by the Judiciary Committee senators is a betrayal of the long-suffering American people who have watched in rising frustration and anger as their country is invaded, law enforcement officers have been sacrificed and thousands of American citizens have been and will continue to be victimized by the criminal element. The American workers’ wages have been undercut, and the rule of law has become a mockery. Most galling to Americans is that they have been forced to subsidize this invasion with their tax dollars, insurance premiums and social services while the operational control of our borders has been ceded to international criminal cartels. “The Senate is put on notice—the American people are fed up. The Minutemen expect our numbers to surge this summer should guest worker amnesty pass the Senate. The American people still have the God-given right to defend the integrity of the territory, their sovereignty and their national security and they will do so if the federal government fails in its constitutional duty. “With this guest worker amnesty agreement, the Senate Judiciary Committee will this year provoke a further onslaught of illegal activity across our frontier. Because they refuse to protect this nation by passing legislation calling for National Guard troops to immediately secure the borders, the Senate will be responsible for the chaos and lawlessness that will be brought on by their reckless failure of responsibility. “The American people will pay at the border, the Senate will pay at the ballot box.”
