'V For Vendetta' and Trial of a Christian Convert in Afghanistan Point Out Need for War on Christians Conference WASHINGTON, March 23 -- The movie "V for Vendetta," (with its strong anti-Christian message) which opened last Friday, and the Christian convert facing a death sentence in Afghanistan, highlight the need for The War On Christians And The Values Voter In 2006 conference, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC (March 27-28). Vision America President Rick Scarborough, the conference organizer, commented: "Here you have a movie -- 'V for Vendetta' -- with one of the strongest anti-Christian messages we've seen in a long time. The movie depicts a future Christian dictatorship in Britain that crushes dissent and persecutes other faiths. No such regime exists anywhere in the world. Nor could it." "But you'll notice," Scarborough continued, "that Hollywood isn't making movies about Islamic regimes that rule by brute force, assign women to an inferior role, subsidize terrorism, conduct anti-Semitic campaigns and kill people for converting from Islam. Yet such regimes aren't fictional. They're all around this." The latest victim is Abdul Rahman, who's on trial for his life in Afghanistan. Scarborough: "The judge in this case has said that if Rahman is found 'guilty' of becoming a Christian, they'll kill him. And all our government can do is complain. Is this why American Christians fought and died to oust the Taliban?" The War On Christians And The Values Voter In 2006 will include a panel discussion called Hollywood - Christians Through A Distorted Lens (March 28, 8:30- 9:30am). Panelists include Ted Baehr of MovieGuide.org, Bob Knight of Concerned Women for America and Rebecca Hagelin of the Heritage Foundation.
