Bicycle Ride Across 11 States to Help 'Reach the Day' When Every Child with Cancer is Guaranteed a Cure SAN ANTONIO, Texas, April 25 /Christian Newswire/ -- Ride to Reach the Day will travel 3,300 miles... cross 11 states... visit 8 children’s hospitals... and endure for 10 days... for 1 single mission: to raise funds and public awareness to help Reach the Day when every child with cancer is guaranteed a cure. Ride to Reach the Day, which will begin on June 16th from San Francisco, CA and commence on June 25th in Norfolk, VA, is the cornerstone event for Team-Will and is dedicated to William Kiefer, a 17 month old child who died of a rare form of cancer on August 1, 2004. William loved anything with wheels, so it is fitting that he should be honored with a bicycle ride. Knowledge Quest, Inc. has partnered with Team-Will to join the fight against childhood cancer. The Texas- based Corporation will contribute 10% of all sales during the months of May and June to Team-Will to help the California non-profit organization facilitate the ride and promote its cause, which is near and dear to Terri Johnson, VP of Sales at Knowledge Quest. “You see,” Johnson relates, “William Kiefer was my nephew. He was a very special little boy who could bring out a smile in anybody. He loved life, but life doesn’t come with any promises or guarantees. Over 12,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and it is the #1 disease killer of children. Proceeds from the ride will go to CureSearch, whose network of research teams will treat over 90% of these kids and this research truly is the key to saving these young lives. They must press on with their research until every child has a chance for a cure.” Knowledge Quest, Inc. is a small publishing company that provides educational materials for private and home schools. Specializing in history and geography resources, Knowledge Quest recently won the “Excellence in Education” award granted by The Old Schoolhouse magazine for best geography company of the year.
