R-CALF Event Notice Event Notice To: R-CALF USA Members in South Dakota Member Contact: Natasha Bentz, R-CALF USA National Field Coordinator Phone: 406-252-2516 Date: May 24, 2006 Re: Fort Pierre Livestock Auction in Fort Pierre, S.D. to Host Fund-Raiser at Noon CDT, Friday, June 2 - Steak Feed / Saddle Raffle - 1:30 p.m. CDT, Saturday, June 3 Fort Pierre Livestock Auction, located in Fort Pierre, S.D., will host a rollover calf auction to benefit R-CALF USA at noon on Friday, June 2. Cody, Hannah, and Bridger Hight, children of Dan and Vanessa Hight, of White River, S.D., will donate the calf for the third consecutive year. The sale marks the 9th anniversary of the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship (WLAC) competition. The auction house will host its Customer Appreciation Steak Feed and Party at Red’s River Frontage on the Missouri River at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 4. The “Casey Tibbs Match of Champions” saddle bronc ride is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the Stanley County Fairgrounds. During that event, a winner will be selected from the raffle of a saddle hand-carved by Baxter Badure, of Belvidere, S.D. Saddle sponsors include: Badure Ranch, First Western Banks, Fort Pierre Livestock Auction, Herber Ranch, Lindskov-Thiel Ranch, and March Trucking. Tickets for the saddle are available for purchase all weekend. Activities carried out by R-CALF USA for the benefit of the U.S. cattle industry are funded exclusively by the independent cattle producers who pay their membership dues and by cattle producers, main-street businesses, and other individuals who participate in and contribute to fund-raising events. R-CALF USA works on various issues that affect independent U.S. cattle producers, such as country-of-origin labeling, livestock price reporting, animal health concerns, captive supplies and packer ownership of livestock, as well as various trade agreements.
