Minutemen Begin Building Border Fence Saturday
Arizona Ranch is the First to Get Private Border Security Fencing

(PHOENIX, AZ) May 24, 2006 – Chris Simcox, President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (“MCDC”), today announced the groundbreaking and commencement of building of the first private security fencing at the border on private land using private donations. The Minutemen will begin clearing brush this week and other preparation for construction Saturday, May 27, 2006.

The groundbreaking events will begin at 10:00 am Saturday at the private ranch.

Media is invited to attend. ***ALL MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA MUST REGISTER AND BE ISSUED A PASS TO GAIN ENTRANCE TO THE PRIVATE PROPERTY***

Due to parking restrictions and clearances to enter the private land, media is required to register no later than 9:00 am on Saturday, May 27th to gain access to the 10:00 am events. Registration will begin at 3:00 pm Friday, May 26th. There will be no entrance authorized without a media pass.

WHAT: Building the border fence and weekend-long border operations

WHEN: Saturday, May 27, 2006 (Registration begins 3:00 pm Friday, May 26th)

WHERE: Trading Post Café, Palominas, Arizona ***REGISTRATION***

Members of the media will be directed to the fence location after issuance of media pass.

Weekend border watch operations will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, May 26th. Media is invited to cover these operations. The same registration procedures apply.
