South Dakotans
Fund Majority of VoteYesForLife.com Campaign SIOUX FALLS -- Financial records prove that South Dakotans provided the majority of VoteYesForLife.com support. In-state donors contributed 65 percent of the campaign’s funds. The campaign received more than 6,000 individual cash donations, totaling $1,891,966. The VoteYesForLife.com Pre General Election Campaign Finance Report shows the cash donations total as $2,152,194. In kind contributions, donated at levels of $100 or more, totaled $39,703. Contributions donated in amounts less than $100 totaled $260,228. As of the reporting date, VoteYesForLife.com expenditures totaled $1,977,090. At the end of the reporting period, the campaign had no outstanding debts. The cash on hand amount was $149,910. It has since been committed to media buys. “I am in awe of the people who have sacrificed their jobs, time and money for this cause,” says VoteYesForLife.com Campaign Manager Leslee Unruh. “The numbers show that a broad base of South Dakotans back Referred Law 6 with their money, as well as their votes.” VoteYesForLife.com campaigns on behalf of Referred Law 6. The campaign organized in 2006 to support HB 1215, the Women's Health and Human Life Protection Act.
