Common sense. I don't think the Lord left us parents completely helpless when it comes to raising up children. Besides the instuctions provided in scripture, we have built-in instincts and years of training from our own parents. When I see advice on parenting that goes completely counter to what the Bible tells me or what I know from my own experiences, I do not give it much credence.
